Welcome to Aikikai Aikido Mushinkan.
AAM aims to offer everyone - men, women and children of all races and religions - the opportunity to practice and learn Aikido with an open mind, free of all boundaries, as taught by O' Sensei in the foundations of true Aikido.
"Aikido is for the entire world. Train not for selfish reasons, but for all people everywhere." O' Sensei.
This is how you will be training at AAM. We will retain the true values of Aikido as taught by O' Sensei, together with the principles taught by Shihan Christian Tissier 7 dan.
It is a self-defence Japanese martial art that uses locks, holds and throws. The essence of all Aikido techniques is the use of total body movements to create spherical motion around a stable, energised centre. Properly executed, some techniques are spectacular and are achieved through precise use of leverage, inertia, gravity and the action of centrifugal and centripetal forces. It is the energy of the attack itself which brings down the attacker.
As O' Sensei said:-
'In the Art of Peace we never attack. An attack is proof that one is out of control. Never run away from any kind of challenge, but do not try to suppress or control an opponent unnaturally. Let attackers come any way they like and then blend with them. Never chase after opponents. Redirect each attack and get firmly behind it' (Art of Peace 1992)
